The HIS X1300 512MB CrossFire Edition seems like a very good card for those who need either silent components or 2 Dual-DVI ports to drive 2 large displays. The overclocking really helps the card perform.

The card would fit well into a HTPC though since it still supports both AVIVO, Dual Link DVI and has a good and silent cooler. [VL Editor's Choice Award] Cooling only the GPU is a good idea, with the Ram being cooled by copper heatsinks. Even the power regulation is cooled, although I would have liked to have seen the 6 mosfets cooled as well. The end result is a GPU that idle's at around 38C with on overclocked load at 57C maximum at very low sound levels. Highly recommended, if you're on the look out for a mid-range card and can spend the little extra over a 7600GT, this card should be on your short list.

[Editors Choice] The HIS X1800GTO Turbo video card is an excellent piece of hardware. HIS has really stepped up with this card and did more than just the minimum of releasing the card. They went in and overclocked the card right out of the box, stripped off the small single slot cooler and replaced it with their brand new and quite impressive IceQ3 cooler. They can attempt to flash this X1800GTO into a X1800XL.

[Editor's Choice Award] After spending a lot of time with this video card, I can say it is one of the best in its price category. Its performance and features make it a clear choice in the mid-range class, a segment which is all about bang-for-your-buck. This card was able to perform well at stock, but also allowed for the unlocking of extra pipelines and a decent overclock. Though the mid-range segment of video cards is very competitive and there are rarely clear-cut choices, the X1800GTO is about as good as it gets.
