記者嘗試將HIS X1800GTO及HIS X1800GTO IceQ3這2張顯示卡作修改，結果兩者皆能由12個PSU，改為16個，時脈則順利修改成核心500MHz與記憶體1GHz。從測試結果可見，刷入修改版BIOS而重開16個PSU的X1800GTO顯示卡，因運作時脈同為500MHz / 1GHz，表現與真正的X1800XL比較，幾乎完全相同，部份測試亦大幅拋離GF7600GT。如果配合CrossFire運行雙顯示卡，未改卡前的 X1800GTO會令主卡以256MB / 12個PSU運作，因而出現樽頸而嚴重影響表現，改卡後則可維持256MB / 16個PSU的運作模式，有助減低主卡核心的PSU資源浪費問題。
